The word  fraisier derives from fraise, that means strawberry, the fruit that is main character of this exquisite and elegant french dessert.  Fraisier is a cake that became popular thanks to the bakery Lenotre since 1860 and since then is a classic in France and in any French bakery.

 

This cake has a very fresh flavor and a truly spongy and creamy texture, its delicacy makes it perfect to eat at any time of the day, any time of the year.  It consists of creamy layers of vanilla genoise, bathed in Kirsch licor syrup, full of mousseline cream and fresh strawberries.
